Yoga is one of the most phenomenal spiritual connections to the self. Some individuals call it exercising, while others simply practice it to relax their body and minds. While it is proven to reduce stress and be an exercise of it’s own, it is something greater than that. Yoga is a union, a more harmonious union of the self, breath, body and soul.

The beauty of yoga is that you don’t have to be B.K.S. Iyengar to practice yoga well. What makes yoga practice perfect is practicing often and always being willing to learn new things. Being open-minded is a virtue and talent. In addition to that, subconsciously or unconsciously, your chakras and kundalini will be awakened in their due time. Chakras and the kundalini are simply the energy systems for spiritual awareness. Many people worry that yoga is a religion, but it is not. It is just an awareness of yourself and the universe. Whether or not that is your purpose, it brings a calming sensation to your being, physically, mentally and spiritually.

An important lesson to always remember is that one is in control of his or her own body and life. Amazingly enough, yoga falls under the category of Alternative Medicine. This basically means that the practice of yoga has the healing effects of medicine, but in a more natural way. It’s one of those old wives tales that say if you do yoga, you eliminate stress. With stress being one of the major causes of modern medical issues, yoga does a great job in relieving tensions from the everyday obstacles in life. Practicing yoga helps you have a better mood and supplies you with good physical activity, leaving you with a healthier life.

That’s the beauty of yoga.

Check out Sanga Yoga's awesome children's book for the holidays!
What a great idea! To read the whole book, click on the first image below.

I am completely drooling over these images as well as the fashion. Wow, oh wow!
Classic, elegant and simply stunning!

Since Dan was away this week, I decided to venture out and explore the famous La Recoleta Cemetery.
It was a very unique experience!
Check out my write up on our travel blog.

I have been running a lot in Buenos Aires, so I decided to sing up the the McDonald's 5k on October 28th.
I used to love running in races so this might be a perfect way to get back into it.
Other than running in the Palermo parks, I have also enjoyed working out outside.
Who needs a gym, when one can do exercises underneath palm trees!
I definitely enjoying checking out The Japan Times from time to time to see how our old team is doing.
Seeing my pictures still getting used is a great bonus!

Catching a cold this week was not fun but drinking lots of tea was.
I still need to try the famous mate!
Gotta love that awkward moment when you realize you took a wrong turn on your run and the dozens of used condoms on the ground are there because you found yourself in the tranny part of the park. Oh life abroad!
At least the park was beautiful!

Absolutely love this song! I can't stop jammin' out to it!

Last but not least,  Obras Sanitarias won two road games in Ecuador this week and qualified into the semifinals of the South American Cup! Woohoo! They will also compete this Sunday against the Boca Juniors.
Come out and cheer them on!

Have a great weekend!

Love.

Since it's early spring in Buenos Aires, flowers are starting to bloom.
Lovely for my allergies! However, I am in LOVE with these red flowers.
I have no idea what they are called but they are blooming all over our neighborhood.

Another weekend in Buenos Aires is here and it looks like it's going to be a wet one!
The weather forecast predicts rain for today and tomorrow (bummer!) I can't complain because this last week has been very sunny. It's still early spring so the weather does drop at night and even in the sun it only gets into the 50s/60s. Despite some chilly weather I still managed to go on a few runs and discovered some neat running paths and parks!

Lago de Regatas and the surrounding parks are by far my favorite place to go running.
Gatorade also has sponsored certain parts of the park so if one pleases they can do pull ups, abs and a variety of different exercises on outdoor fitness equipment. Very cool!
Every wonder how I spend my days abroad?!
Here is my latest morning ritual, grab a newspaper and translate a few articles to brush up on my Spanish.
I am hoping I will be able to understand more and more with each day.
Argentina is known for their wine so I am on a mission to try lots of delicious wines from the Mendoza region.
One of my goals is to learn more about the different types of wines and truly differentiate the unique flavors and what better place to do it in than in a country where wine is plentiful and very inexpensive!
I really enjoy cooking! I was thrilled when we finally got all of our kitchen utensils so I could experiment in the kitchen.
I am sure there will be plenty of blog entires just about food and my quest to try out as many different recipes as possible ;) Perhaps even baking might be on my list...
Ahh, a dog's life!
There are so many dogs in Buenos Aires and I have to admit it's making me want to get a puppy.
For now I will enjoy looking at all the cuties and avoiding all the dog poop on the streets.
One of the great things about Buenos Aires is that there is a lot of very impressive street art!
I've been discovering more and more of it and soon will have a post with all my street art photography.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ciao,
