This summer I was fortunate enough to shoot backstage at the 6th Annual Chicago Dancing Festival. I absolutely love this event! So many beautiful dancers and such great choreography! Here are a couple of my favorite shots of this year's event.

Backstage photography at the Pritzker Pavilion. I absolutely love photographing this event! The dancers possess so much beauty and grace.                           Chicago Dancing Festival. I had the privilege to photograph the first night of the Chicago Dancing Festival. While I was photographing backstage a ballerina was warming up on the main stage. It was pitch dark, no one in the audience, and she was pacing back and forth. A very peaceful yet tension filled moment. I took a couple of photos but my camera could hardly pick up the figure in the pitch dark theatre - I decided to keep the underexposed pictures to see what would happen if I opened them up. They are grainy and dark but there is something about these images that just captures my eye. Maybe its the pure emotion, the anticipation before the performance, or tension...or maybe its a beautiful ballerina in a tutu.  My photo of Hubbard Street 2 dancing with Andy Warhol "Clouds" got published for their Spotlight Ball Annual Gala. I feel so fortunate to be working in the photography field!   ** The two bottom images were shot by Todd Rosenberg Photography. Chicago Dancing Festival.
