Chasing cherry blossom pavements.
Beautiful cherry blossoms by our apartment in Izumi. Sendai, Japan.   Sendai Daikannon (Goddess of Mercy) is the sixth tallest statue in the world at 100 meters (328 feet). The statue faces Sendai Station, the center area of the city, so if you ever visit Sendai and get lost, look at the statue, and at least you’ll know which way is the center.  The beautiful cherry blossoms are finally out in Sendai. Stadium Park, Izumi.   My least favorite part about Japan. Exposed wires everywhere.  Concession stand food at a Japanese basketball game. Yummy tuna rice balls and green tea! So much different then our hot dogs and cheese fries back at home!  A couple more photos of the Ronniji Temple complex. Ah, gotta love the yellow construction cones! Definitely adds to the scene, ha!  I made a little friend. There were quite a few random cats roaming the complex area.  This little guy kept following me.

 I like the close up shots a lot better but I thought I would give you an overall view of the memorial. It was very impressive!  Buddhist cemetery near the Rinnoji Temple. There is something peaceful and serene about this place. I love the little forest its located in.   |
