Aubrey + Andrea Milwaukee Family Session // Retzer Nature Center // Waukesha, Wisconsin
When my friend Andrea told me she was envisioning a wintery-snow session, I was a bit worried. We haven't had much snow in the Midwest this winter. But what do you know! The snow showed up just in time for their session at the Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha. Aubrey danced around in it, made snow angels, and tried to catch snowflakes in her mouth. It was a perfect little session for a beautiful girl and her stunning momma. So thank you "Snow Gods" for making our vision a reality! And since you are listening can I request to get a couple more snow days?! Pretty please!
Jack Chicago Newborn Lifestyle Session // Chicago, Illinois
In these last two months I have been delighted to photograph the little "baby boom" that has been happening among our family, friends and my clients. It seemed as though every weekend I have had the eminence pleasure of holding, cuddling and photographing these precious little humans.
So to start off, please welcome Jack! This cute little 7 day old fella slept during the whole session, only opening his eyes to see what his big brother was up to. Beautiful session, beautiful family!
Hi there! I'm Dominika. I'm a photographer. Traveler. Mommy and Wife. I'm a wanna be minimalist. A constant potty training teacher (seriously when will it end, eeek!) And a thrift store treasure seeker. Despite wanting to travel any chance I get, I am a total home body. Most days I live in yoga pants and my hair is in a bun. But on those special days where mommy-hood has me pulling that bun out or working from home is reduced to hours spent by the computer, I step into the bathroom and put some lipstick on. Yup, maybe totally silly. But it reminds me that even in sweatpants and clothes with mysterious Eva stains on them, a little lipstick can make you feel glamorous. Today is one of those day! Happy Thursday friends!
May the magic and the wonder of the holiday season stay with you throughout the coming year. Happy Holidays to all my friends and family all around the world!
This is still one of my favorite Christmas Eve photos from our overseas livin' days. We lived in a northern Japanese town called Akita, where is snowed nonstop. Yikes! I don't miss that. But what I do miss is forming new Christmas traditions. Every year we had new ways of celebrating our most beloved holiday and each year was filled with new friends and experiences. So whether it was walking down snowy street of Akita to celebrate with Korean bbq or simply staying home, each year overseas was memorable in it's own way. This year we are happy to form new memories state side and reflect on those crazy - fun - once in a lifetime experiences we got to enjoy as expats. Happy Holidays everyone! May they be filled with joy, happiness and plenty of new family traditions!
Someone is excited about her lollipop from my print lab! I love getting prints, not only because I am a big believer in printing your photos but because every package comes with a cute lollipop. Yay to WHCC!

And sometimes I get the bright idea of brining a chair to a family session. Because hey, why not! My husband almost had a minor heart attack when I told him I was taking our cream colored (brand new chair) into the woods for a family session. Ha! Well the chair made it back in one piece and didn't get dirty (so win-win and another win as these two adorable girls were such amazing little models and loved the chair!)
Also have I mentioned that I love this little family! I am so happy to have our best friends finally back in Milwaukee and oh, so close to us. It's been such a pleasure watching our kids grow up together and capture their growing family year by year.
Rachel + Eric Chicago Engagement Photography // Lincoln Park South Pound // Chicago, Illinois
These two! I loved spending an afternoon with them laughing all throughout Lincoln Park Zoo. Rachel and Eric were naturals in front of the camera. They laughed, hugged, kissed, held hands and sometimes forgot I was there taking their photos. It was such an amazing and laid back session! So in the spirit of remembering those amazing 70 degree November days, check out a sample of their Chicago engagement session. I am so excited that they chose to spend their afternoon with me and most of all to capture their wedding in August. Yay! Can't wait! Congrats you two!
D. Family Chicago Family Photography // Lincoln Park South Pound // Chicago, Illinois
It's not every November in the Midwest that we can go outside in short sleeve shirts without coats on. However, this autumn was stunning with warm temperatures all the way through Thanksgiving weekend. The leaves were in their prime much longer and I was able to do so many more outdoor family sessions. Yay!
When I met the D. Family in Lincoln Park we were all in awe at the warmth that surrounded us. Little Clara enjoyed the leaves, the sun on her face and of course, crawling all over the Lincoln Park boardwalk. Enjoy a couple of pictures of this beautiful Chicago family!
G. Family Milwaukee Family Photography // Holy Hill // Hubertus, Wisconsin
Holy Hill is a stunning place! Not only is it a home to a beautiful Basilica but the trails surrounding the area are simply magical. Especially in the autumn when leaves start to change colors and create a surreal environement. I was thirlled when the G. Family decided to do their family session at Holy Hill. The leaves were in their prime, the weather was warm and we had a fun time wandering the grounds. Enjoy!
Well it's finally Friday, so I thought it was time to introduce myself and give a little insight into my business. And of course, tell you about a great auction that is happening tonight!
So first of, (as if you already didn't know) I am Dominika and I am a lifestyle photographer based out of Milwaukee. My style is natural, light and fun. I love to photograph families, couples, and dancers. Most clients describe me as laid back, however my two year old daughter would describe me as "momma says "no-no-no." Yup, we are at a fun age.
My husband and I are travelers and have lived in seven different countries. It was an amazing, humbling experience and we wouldn't trade it for anything. Wanna know where we lived, just ask! We are always looking for more places to add to our travel list, so in the recent years my motto has become "have camera, will travel."
I am also a Marquette Alumna. And this brings me to the Marquette University logo you see on this post. I was fortunate enough to earn a college scholarship for tennis. Marquette University has provided me with an amazing education and four years of experiences that I fondly look back on. I made life long friends and even met my husband through Marquette Athletics! None of that would have been possible without the Marquette Blue and Gold Fund. The Fund supports student-athletes by providing scholarships and last year alone it raised $4.8 million in scholarship support.
So in the spirit of giving it's that time of year again, the Marquette Blue and Gold Fund Auction is here! Well almost here, the actual auction is happening today at 5:30 pm, however the silent auction has started online. Make sure to check it out and bid on some great items that will help support our Marquette student-athletes.
And hey, there is also a Dominika Photo family session available!
Mark your calendars, check the website and join us for another memorable evening to support Marquette student-athletes and show that #WEAREMARQUETTE. https://e.gesture.com/events/5i7/
