Jeanne + Bob Anniversary Session // Georgetown, Texas
Rain drops swirled all around them and thick Texas fog covered the morning air, however Jeanne and Bob were not disturbed by this not-so-typical Texas weather. They were simply happy to be together and delighted to be celebrating 25 years of marriage. Their perfectly matched outfits contrasted beautifully against the natural surroundings. They laughed, hugged and reflected on their years together during this laid back anniversary session.
These two. I missed them so much this weekend! It was my first weekend alone at home and what an incredibly odd feeling. While I was able to catch up on work and spend some much needed time with friends, I missed my little family dearly. As parents we are constantly running around and tend to loose ourselves in the business of life. We strive to find balance between work, marriage, raising kids and our health. This weekend made me realize that my family is my true balance and I couldn't be more excited to cuddle with them tonight! Happy Monday friends!
W. Family Austin Family Session // Mayfield Park // Austin, Texas
This January I had the pleasure of flying down to "kind-of-sunny" Austin, Texas for a couple of family sessions. Not only did it temporarily feed my travel bug but I also had the opportunity to work with this wonderful, one of a kind family. Our session took place at Mayfield Park, which is a beautiful estate and park in West Austin. The park is filled with ponds, stone arches and peacocks! Unfortunately the peacocks didn't want to join us for any photos. However, even without the exotic birds in the photos we had a great time talking and getting to know each other. I am so thankful to have met this down to earth family as well as humbled by their generosity to show me around Austin. Wanna know where they took me?! Scroll down to the bottom to see this one of a kind attraction that certainly agrees with the Austin slogan "Keeping Austin Weird!"
I got a tour of Austin's graffiti park! This never finished housing complex has been transformed into a colorful masterpiece. Artists of all kind (as well as tourists) can buy spray paint cans and fill their artistic void by painting walls with whatever they please. Amazing!
Brittni + James held each other close, smiled and shared cute glances in this winter wonderland. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to be a part of your engagement! I am so excited for your upcoming Milwaukee wedding and am honored that you have chosen me to capture it. I wish you nothing but the best in your wedding planning!
I might be a little biased but I think my nephew is the cutest. A little fox hat, cuddled up in a fluffy blanket and smiling. I mean, come.on! Could he be any cuter?! Ellis was a champ during his lifestyle newborn session. He spent the whole time sleeping, only opening his eyes when his momma would kiss him. So precious! He was content, smily and most of all surrounded by his loving parents. Welcome to the world baby Ellis!
Heather and Jeff had a quintessential Milwaukee wedding, with a first look at the Pfister Hotel and ceremony + reception at the historic Pritzlaff Building. The bride and groom got ready at the Pfister Hotel downtown Milwaukee. Heather looked absolutely beautiful in her dress! The bracelets and sash she picked out (as well as her stunning ring) added to the glamour of the day.
Before their first look, Heather and Jeff read notes that each other wrote. It was a beautiful, raw moment filled with tears and laughter. Thanks to the attentive eye of her bridesmaids, Heather was well taken care of with much needed tissues!
Their first look was straight out of a vintage glamour magazine! The Pfister Hotel with it's classical architecture and old world charm provided a perfect backdrop for when Heather walked nervously toward her future husband. Her dress flowed with ease as she greeted him on the grand staircase. There was laughter, smiles and kisses.
After the first-look jitters settled we headed out of the Pfister into the rather warm late-November day to take bridal party photos in the Third Ward and Walkers Point areas, ending at the historic Pritzlaff Building for their ceremony + reception.
They were surrounded by 200 of their closest family and friends as they said their "I Do's" at the Pritzlaff Galleria. Their wedding was filled with smiles, laughter and some amazing moves on the dance floor!
Heather and Jeff, documenting your love, as well as your first day as husband and wife, was an amazing experience. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be there on your special day. I appreciate and adore you! I am happy to call you friends. I wish you much health, joy and happiness as you make many more memories as husband and wife! Love + Appreciation, Dom.
Heather's grandmother was the flower girl! How adorable!
Eva loves when we read to her, so I couldn't be more excited when our friend Laci Swann released a children's book called "Sloan Saves the Day : Sharing is Caring." The book is based on Laci's daughter, Sloan and the adventures she encounters. It's really cute and Eva absolutely loves it!
We finally got our hands on a copy and Eva has been singing "shaaaaring is caaaaaaring" all morning. She won't let the book out of her sight. You can pick up your copy on Amazon!
With coffee in hand I am happy to announce that my website is getting a little 2017 refresher with new galleries. Yay! Check out the newly updated portrait section. Do you know of someone looking to refresh their LinkedIn or website portrait? If so, let me know!
Zareen Rose Milwaukee Newborn Lifestyle Photography // Wauwatosa, Wisconsin
I am so excited to finally be sharing Zareen's newborn photos! This little six day old beauty was so comfortable during her session she slept the whole time. Gotta love a smiling AND sleeping newborn. Ahh! I'm so in LOVE!
Aubrey + Andrea Milwaukee Family Session // Retzer Nature Center // Waukesha, Wisconsin
When my friend Andrea told me she was envisioning a wintery-snow session, I was a bit worried. We haven't had much snow in the Midwest this winter. But what do you know! The snow showed up just in time for their session at the Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha. Aubrey danced around in it, made snow angels, and tried to catch snowflakes in her mouth. It was a perfect little session for a beautiful girl and her stunning momma. So thank you "Snow Gods" for making our vision a reality! And since you are listening can I request to get a couple more snow days?! Pretty please!
