Anne + Nick Lincoln Park Engagement Photography // Chicago, Illinois
A warm summer Chicago wind swirled all around us as we took cover along the River Walk and at a private residence in Lincoln Park Zoo area for Anne + Nick's Chicago engagement session. Working with Anne + Nick was such a treat. The glamorous couple not only looked polished from head to toe, in their sophisticated outfits, but also were two of the nicest people. We chatted, talked about wedding plans and got to know each other over the course of a beautiful Chicago evening. They even incorporated their two adorable dogs, Wally + Winnie into their session.
Anne + Nick, I am honored to have gotten to know you better and I can't wait for your wedding next summer in Chicago! Sending you lots of love!
Making sure your company has updated and cohesive branding images should be on everyone's radar these days. So when the Minneapolis law firm, Dady & Gardner asked me do to a second round of corporate portraits for them I couldn't be more pleased! It's always such a pleasure to work with returning clients. Here is little sneak peek of our recent Minneapolis shoot.
Le'Sarah + Darius Mommy + Me Session // Third Ward // Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Oh, how I love mommy + me session! Plus I couldn't be more excited when I heard Le'Sarah wanted photos with her little bundle of joy, Darius. Their fun mommy + me session took place at Catalano Square in the Third Ward. Little 18 month old Darius was so incredibly active and thought it was the funniest thing to keep running away from us. He laughed, giggle and took off running any chance he got. I am so grateful to have been able to capture Le'Sarah's maternity session and now her growing little family. Wishing you and your family nothing but the best. Much Love and Appreciation!
Marianne + Taylor Milwaukee Third Ward Engagement Photography // Milwaukee, Wisconsin
With the sun setting over Milwaukee, Marianne + Taylor's Third Ward engagement session was pure perfection. The lovely couple snuggled close to each other, laughed and enjoyed a beautiful evening on the Milwaukee Riverwalk. The late afternoon light was amazing, I do love photographing engagement sessions later in the evening when the light is so soft and warm.
I am so honored to have gotten to know Marianne + Taylor a little more during their session and I couldn't be more excited to photograph their August Milwaukee wedding!
Capturing weddings are exciting and unique in their own right, but what I genuinely loved about Katie and Jefferson’s special day was the light, fun, and laid back aura the couple exuded from start to finish – two truly amazing people to work with. This special couple had so much fun with their respective bridal parties, and their photos certainly show it!
Katie and Jefferson got married in Madison, Wisconsin, and their event was nothing short of a beautiful, quintessential Madison wedding.
They did their first look at Camp Randall – the football stadium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin. When Jefferson saw his new bride walking toward him, he quietly teared up – such an emotional, indescribable moment to document!
These Badger fans also had their bridal party photos captured at Camp Randall! In fact, as if luck would have it, Katie’s new last name is Badger, too! Talk about fate!
These two, University of Madison alumni tied the knot at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Tying the knot at a Catholic church meant a great deal to both of their parents, as this is a special, sacred tradition among both families. Afterwards, the lovely couple headed to several iconic spots around Madison for their photos such as The Capital and Union Terrace.
Katie and Jefferson’s reception was at the Orpheum Theater, steps away from the Capital! During the couple’s wedding-planning process, they aimed to have an elegant, classic, yet fun, feeling for their reception. Well, Katie and Jefferson definitely captured that! The men wore dapper, classic, black tuxedos and the ladies were draped in long, elegant, coral dresses. The floral arrangements added splashes of white, green, and other spring colors around the theater. The couple’s classic, relaxed style was felt through the very last detail of their lovely reception.
Katie and Jefferson, thank you for allowing me to document your once-in-a-lifetime celebration! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness as husband and wife. Love + Appreciation, Dom
Avery // 7 Days New Milwaukee Newborn Session // Wauwatosa, Wisconsin
Little 7 day old Avery was marvelous during her Milwaukee newborn session. She slept, enjoyed cuddles from big sister, Aria, and looked absolutely adorable in her tutu. Big sister Aria was also a great helper! She helped me set up and even let me borrow her puppy for a couple of test shots. Scroll down to see Hank, the puppy, make an appearance. The whole session was light, fun and enjoyable!

As I sat there aimlessly staring at a half eaten bowl of chips and guac, all I could do was hold back the tears. I was in my twenties with a college degree and I felt completely lost. The plan all along was to go to law school, but somewhere after graduation things got shifted and shuffled. After working at a corporate law firm and then subsequently quitting to move to Europe to “figure myself out,” I came back even more lost and confused. I was frustrated and felt defeated.
As tears formed in my eyes, my mom looked at me and asked “If you had to do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?”
I didn’t want her to be disappointed. Deep inside I knew what I wanted to do but couldn’t come to terms with taking such a sharp turn in my career path.
I took a deep breathe and replied “I want to be a photographer…”
My mom took a sip of her margarita, looked at me and smiled “Then do it.”
And that was the moment my career started. My mom’s encouraging words sparked my new path, over a bowl of chips and margaritas at a Mexican restaurant in Schaumburg, Illinois.
My original career plan unraveled before my eyes for two years before my mom gave me the “permission" and courage to actually voice out loud what I wanted to do.
If there is something you are passionate about, go out and do it.
Take a deep breathe, (drink up that margarita ;-)) and follow your wildest dreams!
Photography has been one amazing, creative, and at times challenging ride. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything! We all start somewhere and it’s never to late to begin.
