Roadside Chapel near Boschetti, Switzerland.
I found a neat Lugano website (http://lugano.arounder.com/) which highlights some of the nearby churches as well as other city attractions. Since it was finally a beautiful day out, Dan and I decided to go exploring. Our trusty GPS, Sally, lead us to a church called Santa Maria near Boschetti. The church was closed but we still had a nice time walking around a nearby park and enjoyed the views of the Swiss Alps. Afterwards, we decided to find another church called Santa Maria - the one I found on the website (http://lugano.arounder.com/en/city-tour/st-marys-church.html) and man did we have quite the adventure! The church is located half way up a mountain on a tiny, curvy road. Our little car hardly trekked up the mountain in first gear and Dan almost had a heart attack driving so close to the rocky mountain edge! Afterwards he told me that the next time I decide to plan these random adventures I would have to drive. Deal! :) Here are a couple of pictures.
Off to Milan tomorrow!
Dan at the Santa Maria Church. How narrow is that road?!
The view was worth it though! Enjoy!
