Cristina + Victor Destination Wedding Photography // Huelva, Spain
Cristina and Victor met in the south of Spain in 2001, when Cristina came to see a basketball game in Sevilla. Little did she know that at that one basketball game she would meet her future husband, her best friend and travel companion! Their initial meeting quickly turned into a marvelous relationship that took the two on a 15 year adventure across Spain!
We met Cristina and Victor in Oviedo, while Dan (my husband) played on the same basketball team as Victor. They soon became our dear friends. They traveled with us showing us the beauty of northern Spain. They have done so much for us, from helping me with my prenatal doctor appointments to translating countless Spanish lunch and dinner menus! They (and their families) made us feel right at home! Through our travels we met a lot of great people, but Cris and Victor are true standouts and will be lifelong friends. They showed us so much love and compassion and made our time in Oviedo memorable and oh so special!
So naturally when we found out they were engaged, we immediately booked our tickets to Spain to celebrate their love.
Their stunning wedding took place in Huelva, Spain. A small coastal town located by the Gulf of Cadiz.
Cristina looked magnificent in her wedding dress. It was simple yet intricate, sophisticated and graceful. And truly one of a kind! Victor’s mother, a retired seamstress designed and hand made the dress. It took months of work and the final result was magical and fit Cristina like a glove!
Victor didn’t look too shabby himself. The handsome Spaniard wore a traditional wedding tuxedo.
I have to admit, many times during their wedding ceremony Dan and I had to pinch ourselves as we couldn’t believe how beautiful and fairy tale like their wedding was. We kept asking each other “Is this real life?!"
Cristina entered the Ermita Santuario de Nuestra Señora de La Cinta church to the rhythmic, upbeat music of flamenco tunes. The little Spanish church vibrated with excitement and still to this day I get goose bumps anytime I think about it! Cristina and Victor exchanged their vows in front of family and friends and then exited the church through an arch of basketballs and rose petals!
After a quick photo session in the church's courtyard we headed to the reception site where, in true Spanish spirit, we ate and danced until 8:30 am!
We are so thankful that we could be there on their special day and that our friendship only continues to grow. You guys are amazing! Thank you for all that you have done for us and we wish you nothing but the best in your new life together as husband and wife!
