MAGGIE & JOHN Legends of Brandybrook Wedding // Wales, Wisconsin Maggie & John are married! These two high school sweet hearts tied the knot on the anniversary of their first date. Read their amazing love story and get a sneak peek into their stunning wedding day at Legends of Brandybrook in Wales, Wisconsin John grew up in Sussex, WI where he enjoyed playing sports, visiting his grandparent’s farm, going “up north“ with his family, and picking on his brother (and now best man) Jack. Throughout his childhood and high school years, John was a rough - and - tough boy with a big heart. Nine years from their wedding day (September 5, 2011)... Maggie, a sweet girl from Brown Deer, WI who enjoyed going out to coffee with her mom and sister, watching her brothers play basketball, and taking drives with her dad… decided that she would take a chance on that rough - and - tough boy on the Marquette High School football team. John and Maggie met through mutual friends and often saw each other at the same high school get - togethers. Maggie quickly got to know that big heart of John’s, and within months of dating, it was obvious that they were made for each other. Through the remainder of high school, Maggie and John enjoyed visiting Maggie’s niece and nephews, taking walks around the Audubon Nature center, playing basketball together, and going to movies. Like time always does… it flew. Before they knew it, Maggie and John were faced with making a decision about college. One evening, in Maggie’s driveway, before dropping her off at home, they decided they would find a college he could play football and she could play basketball/ study nursing at. Together they decided on UW - Oshkosh. Little did they know, that evening they made one of the best decisions they have ever made for each other. At UW - Oshkosh, when John was not at Titan Stadium and when Maggie was not at Starbucks studying for her nursing exams, you could catch them seeing a movie at $5 movie night at Marcus theaters or taking a walk to Nikos at 2 AM for a double cheeseburger after a long night of fireball shots at Kelly’s bar. College was a big growing opportunity for John and Maggie. Even though they sometimes grew at different times, they always managed to grow toward one another. After college, Maggie and John moved back to Sussex, WI. Maggie started a job at Columbia St. Mary’s in Milwaukee as a medical/surgical nurse and John became a police officer in the Village of Hartford. The occupations they chose came with strange hours, weekends, and holidays. Even though they worked opposite 12 hour shifts, they still found joy in their 6 AM phone calls to one another and going to the China Kitchen on random, Wednesday afternoons (along with those “of retired age”) when they both had off work. Maggie & John, thank you for having me be a part of your wedding day! Wishing you all of the best in your new future together! Venue: Legends of Brandybrook
