BRITTANY & CHARLIE Osteria Via Stato Wedding // Chicago, Illinois “That love is all there is, is all we know of love.” – Emily Dickinson Brittany and Charlie were married in a beautiful, traditional Catholic ceremony in the heart of Chicago. Their ceremony was not only lovely and meaningful but very personal as the priest who married them was a close family friend who reflected on the couple’s relationship and blessed union. Two and a half years ago, Brittany’s and Charlie’s paths crossed at Brittany’s sister’s wedding. Charlie learned from Brittany’s brother-in-law that she was single and a nurse. So, Charlie decided to approach her by discussing how Saint Mother Teresa was a nurse to which he then shared his desire to help the poor by providing medical care in underprivileged countries. Brittany was impressed and inspired, and the rest was history. The couple’s elegant yet laid-back atmosphere was truly fabulous. Growing up, Brittany envisioned a particular vocalist singing at her wedding, a family friend with a beautiful voice! That was a specific detail she wanted to include in her sacred day. Their reception was held at Osteria Via Stato, an amazing Italian restaurant with rustic decor, glowing candlelight, and delicious Italian cuisine in downtown Chicago. The couple also had a gelato bar which was incredibly cool, no pun intended. Brittany’s flowers were made by one of the best florists in Chicago, Flowers For Dreams. Flowers For Dreams values giving back to the community, and they donate proceeds from every purchase to different local charities each month. Brittany thought flowers would be the one detail she would be least excited about, but her flower arrangements ended up being one of her favorite things! The flowers also included a special gold butterfly pin which served as a memory of Brittany’s father who passed away. The majority of the couple’s photos were taken at night with the magnificent Chicago skyline behind them. Since the sun sets so early these days, we made sure to take advantage of the fabulous Chicago cityscape. Brittany’s long, cascading veil added such a feminine yet classic flair to the already stunning look of the couple’s photos. The evening was remarkable, and I was grateful to be present for their once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Brittany and Charlie, thank you for choosing me to capture the most special day of your lives. I am so grateful for this beautiful opportunity! Cheers to a lifetime of love and happiness. Love + appreciation, Dom Venue : Osteria Via Stato
