World Ballet Day // Dance Photography //

A little late but I wanted to share one of my favorite ballet photos in honor of World Ballet Day!

​This image is very dear to my heart. I took it at the Chicago Dancing Festival in 2010 when I was just starting out in photography. I remember being nervous, anxious and outright intimidated when I walked backstage that August evening. I quickly glanced around and instantly fell in love with the dancers, their moves and the grace their posses while warming up. I've loved photographing dancers ever since! Photographing backstage at the Chicago Dancing Festival was a magical experience. I am honored to have been able to shoot with the festival for 5 years and humbled that that the image still graces the website of the festival!
